I’m always on the lookout for innovative ways to engage my students and unlock their full potential. That’s why I was thrilled to discover the incredible STEM resources provided by the Amazon Future Engineer program. This transformative initiative empowers students to explore their artistic passions while developing in-demand tech skills.

When I discovered this intersection of music and computer science, I was immediately intrigued. The idea of blending music education with computer science seemed like the perfect marriage of creativity and logic. After all, both disciplines require problem-solving, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for structure and patterns.

I decided to incorporate the Amazon Music: Careers Behind the Beats lessons into my classroom this semester. I presented the fun, game-like virtual tour available for FREE on Kahoot!. The students played each other while learning about the recording process and streaming app development. No account required. The student dove headfirst into the interactive tutorials, learning about how computer science and people take listening to songs from the studio to the streaming app of Amazon Music. The students gained exposure to the careers of the future as they discover how professionals use computer science and science to record music, license songs, and build the front and and back end of the Amazon Music app, allowing people to stream songs from anywhere, at any time.

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring these transformative lessons into my classroom. The Amazon Future Engineer program isn’t just teaching my students how to code – it’s unlocking their creative potential and empowering them to shape the future of music and technology.
