This short introductory video will be used during the 8th grade tours and parent nights at CASA.

Hey Everybody! and welcome to the Advanced Technologies Academy, one of three academies here at CASA. We are so happy you are visiting with us today.

I like to say in our academy students are encouraged to become producers of content rather than just consumers of content. In other words, students are encouraged not to sit and play video games all day, but to get out there and create your own game.

Our academy is where computer art meets computer science. Whether we are learning graphic design or writing code for mobile apps, students are allowed to express their individuality and creativity in their projects.

We learn by doing in our academy. This is accomplished by working on a variety of individual and group projects. This helps students develop skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving.

Our academy is preparing students for a career and college success.

Students are prepared for entry level jobs in the digital design and multimedia industry. Possible jobs are graphic designers, animators, radio producers, film makers, website developers, mobile app developers, user interface or user experience designers, digital marketing specialists, game developers, content creators, IT support specialists, social media managers, technical writers, search engine optimization specialists, project managers, freelancers, AI Prompt Engineers, and much more.

As students are preparing for college success they have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an associate degree in Digital Media and Mobile App Development. In just 4 years! How cool is that?!?

Digital Media is communicating to large groups of people electronically. What company doesn’t need someone that can do that effectively. In the digital media classes students learn graphic design, animation, audio production, video production, and web design. We use the Adobe Creative Suite of software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro.

In the Mobile Application Development classes students learn how mobile devices are used and managed in business environments, how to design mobile interfaces, and how to develop mobile apps for the iPhone and iPad by using the programming language Swift in Xcode.

To learn more about the advanced technologies academy and to see examples of student projects, be sure to visit our academy’s website at www.mistermyers.com as you see here on the screen.

The best part of all this is there is no experience needed to apply to our academy. What is most important is having a genuine interest in these areas and a willingness to actively learn the required skills.
