Students in the Mobile Interface Design course have garnered hands-on experience this semester prototyping fully-interactive mobile applications. This process allowed them to apply user-centered design principles with an emphasis on accessibility and inclusion.

Using Adobe XD, students simulated app interfaces enabling realistic click-throughs. This software supports dynamic testing across a range of mobile devices to evaluate and refine responsiveness. Teams initially explored fundamentals of user flow, wireframing, and obtaining peer feedback.

Equipped with new technical competencies and design thinking skills, pairs conceived inventive app concepts like education, time management, entertainment, and travel.

This course cultivated in-demand talents for articulating design choices powering seamless mobile experiences. I hope students walk away understanding how intentional user interface decisions shape products and people’s lives. Our app prototypes only scratch the surface of their potential to utilize skills for social good.
